Michael Jackson's always sold-out, three-session series at the Museum will feature grain-based beers this year. Local breweries participating are Dogfish Head, Sly Fox, Troegs and Victory, and there will also be beers from Aventinus, Kiuchi (Japan)and two from Brasserie de Silenrieux (Belgium). Since this popular annual event falls on St Patricks Day Weekend in 2006, an Irish theme will be featured. Brewmasters Brian Arnett and his brother of the brand new Mountain State Brewing Co. in Thomas WV will be presenting a slate of four brews. Friday evening guests are invited to bring and share their home brews or favorite brews, generally socialize and enjoy the view, wildlife & snacks on the deck. No dinner will be served on Friday. This is the first of two of these now nationally known tours, part of the region-wide The Book and The Cook® festival. Join beer enthusiast Rich Pawlak, for the 10th Anniversary celebration of Philadelphia’s most famous pub crawl, 12 Noon to 9:00PM.

This year's tours are a 10-stop extravaganza, visiting some of the most well known venues on the lively Philadelphia beer scene. Things get started with a visit to Monk's Cafe, followed by lunch at Ludwig's Garten, featuring Lew Bryson, author of Pennsylvania Breweries, New York Breweries and Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Breweries, and then visits to historic and cult-favorite watering holes, tastings of rare and unusual beers, a tour of the Yards Brewery, and a 3-course Beer Dinner!
